Cookie Policy

This page explains what cookies and similar browser-storage technologies EV Charge Routes ("we", "us") uses on evchargeroutes.com, what each category does, and how to control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What we mean by "cookies"

The term "cookies" below covers HTTP cookies, localStorage,sessionStorage and similar mechanisms used to persist small amounts of data in your browser.

2. The three categories

Our consent banner groups storage into three categories. You can accept all, reject all non-essential, or accept categories individually.

2.1 Necessary (always on)

Required for the site to function. These cannot be disabled because the Service would not work without them.

  • evcr_session_id (sessionStorage) — anonymous browser-tab id used to deduplicate impressions and prevent abuse.
  • evcr_cookie_consent_v1 (localStorage) — remembers your consent choice so the banner doesn't reappear on every visit.
  • Supabase auth cookies — keep you signed in when you have an account.
  • Cloudflare cookies (__cf_bm, cf_clearance) — bot mitigation and edge delivery.

2.2 Analytics (opt-in)

Help us understand which pages, tools and searches are useful. Aggregated and stored on our own backend — we do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics SDK.

  • Page-view, scroll-depth and engagement-time events keyed by your session id.
  • Search queries (normalised) and which result you clicked.
  • Tool engagement (range calculator, charging-cost calculator, route planner usage).

If you reject this category, all trackEvent calls are suppressed client-side — no analytics events are sent.

2.3 Marketing (opt-in)

Used to measure sponsored placements, cap their frequency, and attribute leads.

  • evcr_modal_shown_session, evcr_impr_*, evcr_freq_* (sessionStorage / localStorage) — frequency capping for partner placements.
  • UTM parameters captured on landing and forwarded with lead submissions to our CRM partner.
  • Conversion events for A/B-test variants on hero copy and CTAs.

3. Third parties

We share data with the following processors, each under a data processing agreement:

  • Cloudflare — edge delivery, bot protection.
  • Supabase (Lovable Cloud) — authentication, database, storage.
  • Trackbox / universal-lead-proxy — receives leads you submit on investor landing pages so partner brokers can contact you (Marketing category only).
  • Open Charge Map, Mapillary, Google Places, Wikimedia — provide station and vehicle imagery served from our cache.

4. Managing your choices

  • Use the link in the footer to change categories at any time.
  • Most browsers let you block or delete cookies for the whole site via their settings. Disabling Necessary cookies will break sign-in and the consent banner itself.
  • To remove records already collected, submit a deletion request via the Request Your Data page.
